Perhaps we should implement testing and licensing for the right to vote. While we are at it, maybe a license for many 'rights' that seem to be simply accepted, like Parenting and Drinking, and other vices. Even email (to hopefully stop all the idiot fowards every morning).
What brings this little rant on? A simple recorded interview of normal people about who they are going to vote for, and the horrible truth that they know nothing, NOTHING, about the candidates.
Average Dummy on the Street
I haven't listened to Howard Stern in a while, since he went all conspiracy talk before leaving the airwaves. His show had lost the funny. Which is fine, all things evolve. One thing that we should give credit to Howard for is the 'Man on the street Interview'. I know, I know, "hoo hoo, I invented everything Robin." Maybe he didn't invent it, but he gave the bit some legs, so much so that Jay Leno grabbed it. Simply ask people on the street basic, so-called easy questions and peer inside the wonderous vacancy of knowledge in society. And not questions like 'what is the square root of 25?' (obviously that would be 252=50, duh)
Obama and Palin? McCain and Biden?
So, here we come to a simple question in time for the 2008 election... who are you voting for and why? Simple. And when the say Obama, ask if it is his stance on Pro-Life, or his Pro-War that they like. Or if Obama's pick of Sarah Palin for VP was a good choice. And before you claim that it shows the intellegence of Obama supporters, note that it happens with the McCain/Biden voters also.
Listen in. Some might scoff and say that it is typical of Harlem residents, that them Blacks don't know nuthin 'bout nobody, but we all know it is the same in every town. Using Harlem for a location is just a gimmic, adding a bit of phun racism to the dialog.
